Hi all. A brief notice for you and to share with others who will be in
Dallas-Fort Worth area during GA (you don't have to be registered at GA to attend
this off-site event). Thanks.
Reserve your place now for a wonderful catered dinner (don't fight the long
lines at restaurants; cost will be $20; featuring chicken dijon, fresh seasonal
salads from the area, and more, geared to diverse diets), a splendid and
timely speaker (see below for bio and title and blurb), spirited hymn sing,
mission-filled leadership celebration at annual UUCF meeting. Saturday, June 25, 7
p.m. First Christian Church, downtown Fort Worth. And help us spread the word.
We need to get in as many reservations to the caterer as we can by June 20, so
if you are contemplating it go ahead and let me know; you don't have to pay
until the event itself; we can add folks later, but we like to stay on good
terms with the caterers <g>. And think of inviting guests to experience this with
you. Forward to others or print out and share or make posters for your
churches or groups.
The Annual GA Gathering sponsored by UU Christian Fellowship will include a
talk by the Rev. Anthony David, Lead Pastor of new rapid-start Pathways UU
Church (www.pathwaysuu.org) in the Dallas area. Anthony was born in Edmonton,
Alberta, Canada, went to high school in East Texas, where he became a member of
the Church of Christ. In college, at Texas A&M University, he realized that he
yearned for a spirituality that was hope-centered and open, and that led him to
Unitarian Universalism. Before ministry, Anthony taught college-level
philosophy for 8 years. He and his wonderful wife, Laura, have a 12 year-old daughter.
Title of Talk: "Church-Planting With Jesus"
Anthony says, "One of the things I want to say is that in my ministry I am
NOT motivated by megachurch-envy. I am motivated by the mission of building a
spiritual community that changes lives, and that leads me directly to Jesus,
whose ministry (as I see it) was all about freeing people up to live impossibly
great lives."
To make reservations, or for questions, reply to me at RevRonRobinson at aol.com

Thanks and blessings and hope to see many of you there in just a few weeks,
Rev. Ron Robinson, Executive Director, UUCF, www.uuchristian.org
