I am sending this not only to the list of registrants I have received emails
for, but since there is always a lag I am sending this information also to our
online lists in hopes of reaching those whom either haven't registered yet or
those whom I haven't received the processed registrations for so far. So,
apologies for using the general email lists, though now that I think about it, it
is a good way to keep all up on the Revival for those unable to attend this
year, and hope we will have some folks willing to send out "updates and
commentaries, etc." to the list during Revival itself.
Hi to all. One week and counting, to Revival 4 of the UUCF that is, in
Worcester, MA at First Unitarian Church. Thank you to all for your committment to
this now annual event which has become one of the most spirit-filled, personally
deepening and community-forming events within our movement.
Below is some information for you and requests we need from you. This is
shaping up to be our biggest Revival ever, with the most offerings. That, plus our
UUCF office move, has kept us busy and thanks for your patience. Things are
falling into place well now, but things will always fall through the cracks
too. If we can help with any questions or concerns ahead of time, please let me
know.
Please feel free to forward this email on to others who would be interested
still who haven't registered yet, print and send to those coming but who don't
have email. Remember that we have day rates. Also remember that we have
reduced our rates by $40. If you have paid at the rate originally publicized you
will receive a check rebate during registration.
We will have orientation and frequent announcements on changes that have been
made at the last minute and through the Revival.
The Saturday Night Catered Banquet will also be our opportunity to honor our
leaders, past and present, and nurture our future leaders. We will be giving
special recognitions to UUCF leaders of our previous 60 years, especially since
this is the first Revival to be held in New England, as well as recognition
to those who are making this Revival a momentous one. This will become an
annual tradition among us.
REMINDER: Bring some extra bags or space in your luggage for our GRAND
REVIVAL MOVING GIVEAWAY. Simply for donations, if you can, we are giving away back
issues of the UU Christian Journal, of the Prescott Wintersteen book
Christology in American Unitarianism, of Good News, of pamphlets, of the 1937 red hymnal
Hymns of the Spirit, and much more. The more you all take and give away to
church friends, family, as gifts, to seminary libraries, general libraries, to
ministers, for your small groups, etc., the less we will have to move from
Mass. to our new offices in Oklahoma following the Revival. (Since I am planning
to have to drive the remainder across the country, I would personally
appreciate it!) Besides, it is a chance to sow seeds of our faith with the wonderful
reflections of our 60 years as the UUCF.
First, if you would like to sing with the church choir on Sunday, we need to
know that as soon as possible. Contact me or Tom Schade (trschade at aol.com).
Second, if you would be able to help out our wonderful Registrar Rev. Russ
Savage and assist at the Registration Table some, let Russ or me know. Just a
few extra hands and a chance for you to meet people as they come in too.
Third, when you come to Revival and get registered, you will be assigned to a
small group which has already been designated with a facilitator, as in
previous Revivals. These are check-in groups as we go through Revival, for making
newer and deeper relationships and a chance for all to share their reflections
and spiritual passions. These are not, of course, mandatory, but we hope you
will find them meaningful.
Fourth, and very importantly, Below you will find a complete (I hope <g>)
list of workshops.
We need to get a good approximation of how many people will be in which
workshops, for our own space allocations, and to pass on to the workshop leaders.
So, if you would please, as you are able, decide which workshops you prefer to
attend and send those back to me RevRonRobinson at aol.com it would be greatly
appreciated in these "end times."
Here is the most recent schedule. Some tweaking will occur, but this is
basically it. You will notice the workshops slated for the various time slots to
help you choose which ones you will attend when. We may have missed a few so I
will send any others to you as soon as possible too; if you notice one missing
you were planning to attend, please let me know. (Heck with Game 4 of the
Series tonight, I just hope we've gotten it "in the ballpark." lol)
