youth program

I agree that we shouldn't assume the youth are Christian. But they're
certainly all likely to be in contact in kids who are Christian in one
sense or another, though. That's largely where I was coming from when I
mentioned the "Saving Jesus ... " title: How does one of our kids respond
when someone asks them whether they are Christian? Or why they go to
church? How to answer intelligently and honestly for oneself. How to engage
in dialog with people who may believe strongly but in a way that's quite
different from one's own beliefs.

Maybe it's too big a topic for an afternoon workshop, but I remember my own
searching at that age and few people to help me find a voice that could
deal with those questions. (I remember well my Orthodox Jewish best friend
and I arguing for organized religion against an atheist friend and
classmate.)
