[Uucf-bible] Give-away Bibles & Online Classes

Looks like there's lots of energy for on-line classes.

I appreciate the African Lambeth method. There's lots of excellent Biblical
study practice to pursue, and I tend
to favor a liberationist approach (but then, that's evident in my lection
commentaries).

Gil, when I interned at Horizon, the model I taught was focused on spiritual
engagement with how the text was living to us now. I taught Bible classes all
through the year. But no give aways.

I'll peek into publisher relationships with give-away Bibles. Any worries about
putting labels inside directing folk toward the UUCF?
I'll need multiple translations for the environment I'm in - particularly
wondering on preferred Spanish and Kreyol/Creole translations.
Also considering combining the JPS TNKH and a book with Christian Scripture with
a ribbon or band and encouraging people to read the two canonical libraries side
by side that way. (until the prices come down on the non-canonical libraries,
and they're more widely available in non-academic bindings, I can't give those
away).

Anything else to consider?

We're enjoined to be light - may we also be persons of peace opening doors and
barriers to permit folk access to the power and beauty of the Bible.
