Hi all. Above is the link to this week's excellent commentary by the Rev.
Anita Farber-Robertson on this week's lectionary selection in our website's
Virtual Monastery section for your reading, reflection, responding. Enjoy
and please share the link with others, especially in your social media
circles.
An excerpt from the beginning:
I enjoy reading the Bible. Well, not all of it. Some of it is boring. When
I was a child I tried starting at the beginning and got so bogged down in
the begats and begots, I never got any further. And some of the bible is
disturbing. It is, after all, the story of a people’s unfolding and becoming.
It is full of wise decisions and foolish mistakes, of generous hearts and
miserly meanness. It has forgiveness and revenge and all the human behaviors
in between. It is a frighteningly earthy, fleshy chronicle of the story
from which we have come.....
And check out the Virtual Monastery archives from the links on the page
above to see previous reflections and prayers and exegesis from you amazing
folk.
I am looking for 2011 virtual monastery writers. Please consider taking a
month of Sundays. Let me know. We will need others soon. If you have any
questions, let me know too.
blessings, Ron Robinson, Turley, OK
