here in san francisco - which admittedly is not representative of all the us
- 'left wing' is definitely not pejorative but rather a marker of someone
who does not equivocate about their convictions.

i also find jesus (for his time) as well as the founders of this country (
for their time) 'left-wingers' in the sense that they fought the status quo.

today's fundamentalist christians with their mentality would doubtless have
both crucified jesus and sided with the uk in the revolutionary war.
