[Uucf-bible] Left-wing Puritanism

I am reading  Unitarian theologian James Luther Adams' essays and he keeps 
mentioning  "left-wing Puritans" and "left-wing Puritanism".  I was completely  
unaware there was a left-wing of the Puritan movement.  Does anyone know of  
any good resources for me to read up on this?
