I think the new perspective on Paul would have Paul, especially in Romans,
say something like it is our faithfulness to God's faithfullness, as Jesus was
faithtful to God's faithfulness, as Abraham was faithful to God's faithfulness,
which brings about the justifying of the soul into right relationship. And to
Paul I think the "our" was both, as you point out, for persons and
communities; I don't think he saw them as separate entities.
