I'd have to go with neither.  It's alarmist propaganda.  I love 
questions like that, though.  Personally, I think the transported 
Pilgrims might be so busy wrapping their minds around the internet and 
air travel and microwaves that gay marriage might not shock them quite 
so much.

But I do have the same question about the evolution of UU theology.  I 
thought for a while that current UU beliefs might be the logical 
progression from the idea that there is more than one valid religious 
path, but many mainline and liberal Christian denominations share that 
belief, so I wonder how UUs got from "there" to "here."
