Unitarian Universalists (UUs) are looking forward to the 4th annual UU
University and the 48th annual General Assembly (GA) in Salt Lake City,
Utah, beginning on June 24, 2009. The Salt Lake City downtown area is
preparing for the arrival of GA 2009, and the Salt Lake City Tribune has
already published three articles related to UUs and General Assembly
events:

- A joint op-ed piece written by the two UUA candidates for president,
Rev. Dr. Laurel Hallman and Rev. Peter Morales (see
http://www.sltrib.com/opinion/ci_12651480 )

- A tribute to Rev. William G. Sinkford, whose term as UUA president
ends on June 28 (http://www.sltrib.com/faith/ci_12620560 )

- A feature on the South Valley Unitarian Universalist Church and Rev.
Sean Parker Dennison (http://www.sltrib.com/faith/ci_12611602?source=rv
).

This General Assembly will feature a public witness event in support of
immigration reform to benefit all families; a Prom-for-All; the Ware
Lecture, delivered by professor Melissa Harris-Lacewell; and a Sunday
worship service led by Rev. Abhi Janamanchi, senior minister of the UUs
of Clearwater, Florida, and Rev. Sinkford.

Online reporting, live-blogging of plenary sessions, audio postcards,
and more than twenty-five hours of streaming media, as well as
additional taped rebroadcast of other events, is all planned. For
further information and coverage after GA begins, see
