In 2002, in an effort to create a more collaborative and agile staff
structure, the Unitarian Universalist Association reorganized its staff
services. While there have been relatively minor overall changes in the
ensuing time, shifting responsibilities and priorities have suggested
that changes should be made to what has been the Congregational Services
Staff Group.

The merger of the Office of Young Adult and Campus Ministry with the
Youth Office (both will be in the Lifespan Faith Development Staff Group
and called the Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministries) is one
example. A change in UUA marketing strategy has resulted in a new focus
on public visibility which will now be carried forward through the
Advocacy and Witness Staff Group. Additionally, several weeks ago, Rev.
Dr. Tracey Robinson-Harris announced her resignation as Director of
Congregational Services effective June 30, 2009, and proposed that the
work currently done in Congregational Services be done in other staff
groups.

Given both existing and anticipated changes, and with the support of
both UUA presidential candidates, a number of changes are being made, to
take effect on July 1, 2009. In addition to those already named, the
following are anticipated:
*	Congregational Stewardship Services will reside in District
Services
*	Services to Large Congregations will reside in District Services

*	Growth services will reside within District Services
*	Congregational justice making (the JUUST Change consultancy, the
Jubilee 1 and Jubilee 2 programs) will reside in Identity-Based
Ministries
*	Consultations for congregational safety and ethics will continue
to be handled by Tracey Robinson-Harris under the supervision of the
Executive Vice President.

Finally, effective July 1, the District Services Staff Group will be
renamed the Congregational Growth and Vitality Staff Group, to more
accurately reflect the enhanced work and structure of that group in
serving and supporting our congregations.
