[UUA-L] UUA-UUSC Gulf Coast Relief Fund tops $500K; more aid is needed

Boston, MA - Sept. 9, 2005
Contributions to the UUA-UUSC Gulf Coast Relief Fund, established nine
days ago, have topped $500,000. A goal of $1 million has been announced
and a panel established to make decisions about aid distribution (see
http://www.uua.org/news/2005/050831_katrina/panel.html for further
information) which will go to address the needs of the most
disadvantaged and marginalized communities in the affected areas as they
rebuild their lives and livelihoods, and to support Unitarian
Universalist congregations as they rebuild their ministries in the
regions affected by the hurricane.
