[UUA-L] UUA President Adds Support to Interfaith Statement Opposing War w ith Iraq

Boston, MA - Sept. 13, 2002) The Rev. William G. Sinkford has added his
signature to a letter from Churches for Middle East Peace being sent to
President George Bush. 

Sinkford said, in issuing his announcement about his decision, "While all
Americans agree with the goal of a more secure world for ourselves and our
neighbors, as religious people we believe that war will not further the
cause of peace. Our voice joins with the many Muslim, Jewish, Buddhist,
Christian and other religious leaders who oppose the pre-emptive use of
