from uua-l: UUA and Beacon Press phone lines still down

We are sorry to report that phone lines servicing Beacon Press and 
the UUA are still out of order.  

If you call in, you will be able to reach the UUA Bookstore at 
800-215-9076.  In addition, calls can reach Pickett & Eliot House 
through 617-248-8707; Beacon Press, at 617-742-2110; in addition, the 
UUA General Information number, 800-511-0864 is working.

One line is connected to many UUA departments through the UUA 
switchboard so that messages can be relayed to the following 
areas or departments:  Publications, Church Staff Finances, Ministry, 
Faith in Action, General Assembly, Administration, WORLD Magazine, 
Information Services, and Development.  Please note that calls can 
not be transferred.  Only four lines are incoming and outgoing, so 
you may experience busy signals.  

Offices located at 53 Beacon Street (including Congregational, 
District and Extension Services, Finance, Religious Education, the 
Youth Office, and the Church of the Larger Fellowship) can call out 
but can not receive calls.

Email using first name, last initial @uua.org OR @beacon.org 
continues to work for all buildings and individuals.  We hope to have 
the phone service restored to all areas by 5 PM edt on Thursday, July 
17, but will provide further updates through uua-l and on the UUA and 
Beacon web sites as necessary.

We apologize for this inconvenience, and thank you for your 
understanding and patience.
