Hello Youth activists, youth leaders, DREs, Coming of Age and Youth
Coordinators,

As the beginning of the year for congregations is in full swing I wanted
to introduce myself to those of you that do not know me. My name is
Nguyen Weeks and I am the Associate for youth at the Unitarian
Universalist Service Committee. I want to tell you some of the things we
have to offer your youth groups.

This year approximately 450 youth came through our doors to learn about
human rights as well as what we do within economic and environmental
justice as well as civil liberties and rights in humanitarian crises.

Our visits consist of interactive and thought-provoking activities that:

*	Introduce the concept of human rights and the work of the
Service Committee
*	Provide in-depth discussion and games around one program area
*	Create opportunities for youth to frame a message and present it
to their legislators through on-site phone calls or through letter
writing.
*	Provide activities that youth can do once they get home to
further their knowledge.

In addition to these on-site visits UUSC can work with congregations or
districts to co-sponsor an experiential learning opportunity in your
community. There are also opportunities that we do that your teens or
groups may be able to plug into. Those are as follows:

*	April Teen Experience
*	Civil Rights Journey
*	DC Training
*	Katrina Relief Camp
