Hard to believe, but this is the SIXTH annual campers weekend reunion at
Ferry Beach, and we are hoping that you will join us! Once again we will
have the sound of the waves crashing in the background as we stroll the
grounds and kick back on the beach.


This year we will enjoy a "Do your own thing" theme, in a tip of the hat
to the camps and campers of the seventies.  If you could be there and help
us find former Ferry Beachers to let them know about it, it would be
wonderful.

We are reaching out to find youngsters connected to LRY/UYF, even if they
never went to Ferry Beach.  Last year, Alice Harrison's nephew was there,
enjoying afternoon social hour with Dr. William Wallace Rose's grandson
and Eddie Hempel's granddaughter.  Roots go way back at the Beach.

The new, improved Quillen will serve again as camp reunion dorm, so the
earlier you reserve the more likely you are to get a bed there.  (Oh
Shinn, oh dear old Quillen Shinn, dum da dum)

Registrations have started - Former Ferry Beach campers and staff, plus
any old LRYers still alive and functioning, can enjoy a weekend of food,
fun, music, beach, memories and more.  Arrive on Friday August 27 for
dinner and stay until Sunday August 29 after lunch.  Two nights' lodging
and six meals for only $160.00.

There is never EXACTLY a formal agenda, but the group will probably do
sharing of scrapbooks, s'mores, friendship circle on the beach, Barbershop
harmony (if anyone wants to try), ecology walk, early morning fun-run with
Heidi, Joe and Craig, Yoga breathing, and a retro-70s scavenger hunt.
And of course, the stars will be gazing down at us from the clear, clean
skies of Maine.

If the names Gordon McKeeman, Keith Munson, Peter Scott, Bill and Barbara
DeWolfe, Scotty and Dottie Meek are familiar, we will probably have some
of the former staff members back and they WON'T be doing bed checks.  We
will light beach candles for Alice Harrison, Helen Gresty, Bill Shepard,
Charlie Buckland and others, of fond memory.

Once again, we are looking for some of the camper/LRYers...does anyone
