I write from New Brunswick in the midst of an Eastern Region "road trip".
Linda Thomson, Director of Regional Services-West and I, together or
separately, spent time recently with Ottawa First; Ottawa Fellowship,
UCMontreal and Lakeshore. Before a return to Toronto, I'll be visiting with
folks in Saint John, Halifax and Fredericton.
 
UPDATES on UUA positions in Canada
 
Compensation Consultants - Bob Dobbs of First Victoria has been appointed a
UUA Compensation Consultant and will be attending training in January. Bob
will be lightening the load of Bernie Keeler who has been in the role for
sometime. Barry Coburn of Ottawa First is the third person in this role. I'm
very glad to have a full complement of three people in this role, as we've
been "short-staffed" for a while. 
 
Ministerial Settlement Representative - Rev. Wendy McNiven is leaving the
position of MSR - Canada West. UUMOC, through President, Rev. Dr. Steven
Ep0person and CUC through discussion at CUC board meeting have sent names to
John Weston at UUA who will make the final decision.
 
RSCC vacancies as of December,2007 - Rev. Susan van Dreser and Rev. Raymond
Drennan both will have completed 8 years of service on the UUA/MFC Regional
Sub-committee on Candidacy in 2007. The committee consists of 4 professional
ministers and 3 lay persons, so two ministers will be required to complete
the full complement. If you, or someone you know, is interested, contact the
UUA "Committee on Committees".

These groups and services are funded by the UUA as ministerial credentialing
and settlement/transitions remains continental.
