Hello, Professional Ministers in Canada (including parish, settled, intern,
interim, community and retired)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------
CUC ACM FRIDAY NIGHT 9:30-10:30 PM - CUC BOARD/UUMOC
Here's UUMOC President, Rev. Jane Bramadat's invitation:
"Knights and Knightesses of the Round Table (no squares allowed..) you are
about to be invited to an opportunity to sit down with some of the other
leaders of our Canadian liberal religion - the Board of the CUC. This will
give us a chance to get to know each other face-to-face in an atmosphere of
mutual appreciation and trust and share with each other some of our
preferences and dreams for the future of Canadian Unitarianism and
Universalism. I told the CUC leadership that we would be honoured to share
any insights, passions, humour and thoughts we have about our common future.
Your president couldn't be wrong, right?
>From your humble servant, knightess Jane.
This will be immediately after the Ingathering and the room will be posted
in the schedule in your registration packet.
I'll be reserving a room that can hold 30-40 people and providing coffee
(decaf); tea (regular and herbal); soft drinks and a fruit tray and dessert
tray.
Rev. Brian Kiely, President and Rev. Jane along with incoming UUMOC
President, Rev. Dr. Steven Epperson will be coordinating an agenda.
Please send a short note to Janice at cuc.ca to rsvp so we can judge the
numbers attending.
I look forward to seeing you there.

WELCOME DIANE ROLLERT
Unitarian Church of Montreal called their 11th minister (and first woman
minister) with a unanimous vote on Sunday, April 30.
<http://www.ucmtl.ca/> http://www.ucmtl.ca/ - April's newsletter will
introduce you to Diane. (If someone has an email for Diane, I'd like to
send her a note...)
(Thanks, to Charles Eddis for passing along additional information and media
coverage in the Montreal Gazette. Well done!)

GO 4 IT
At the CUC Board February meeting, the board affirmed Go 4 It (Go on! Go
deep! Go out! Go big!) as a "draft strategic planning framework." The first
hour of the multigenerational day at the ACM (Saturday 2-3pm) will be an
interactive presentation of the Go 4 It team. This carries on the work of
the Visioning task force who collected data and did an "environmental scan".
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------
NATIONAL CONVERSATIONS
The CUC Board will now be offering a Stream at all Regional Fall Gatherings.
This coming fall, there will be two workshops: one from the Statement of
Principles Task Force and one from the Go4It Strategic Planning group.
Questions about this? Ask board liaison Kalvin Drake kalvin at cuc.ca - your
comments, questions and feedback are very welcome.

WHERE'S MARY?
Just arrived in Toronto "two sleeps" ago by way of Lethbridge where I led a
soulful-sundown-style worship on labyrinths and a workshop and then two days
in Calgary, spending time with incoming board member John Michell and his
family and leading worship on Unitarians and the Arts. 3 folk from Red Deer
came into visit and were rewarded for their efforts with a gift from
UCCalgary of some hymn books they no longer need.
------------------------------
WHAT'S MARY READING?
A Semiotic Theory of Theology and Philosophy by Robert Corrington - on
recommendation of Steven Epperson. Not a very jazzy title, but exciting in
its own way!

EMAIL LIST OF THE MONTH
You might enjoy receiving 1-2 messages per month about the arts and artists
"among us". Last "issue" featured my visit to Calgary and their arts
displays and sharing. If you're interested, either let me know or just send
a blank email to cuc-arts-news-subscribe at yahoogroups.com.
-----------------
You are free to forward this email in whole or part to anyone you choose to
share it with.
Take care,
Mary Bennett, Executive Director
